Well it seems I'm bad luck for the computers in my life. My temporary solution to my pc dying has now died as well. My laptop can't handle actual playtime in LOTRO very well so I won't be on this week. Hopefully we will have something back up soon. Have fun and see you all later

Luckily I can still do most of my stuff on my laptop, its just not good enough to keep up with LOTRO, so we've been playing some older games this week. I'll be back soon

Yes, I should add that since Lelah has been sidelined, that means I'll be out too. But its been fun dusting off and revisiting some of the old RPGs we've got sitting on the shelf that will run on Amber's laptop. Baldur's Gate, Diablo, Icewind Dale, Planescape: Torment, Dungeon Siege, Sacred, Lionheart, Neverwinter Nights, Temple of Elemental Evil, Knights of the Old Republic, Morrowind, Oblivion.... we've got quite a collection.

Max got the new hard drive last night. He has started reinstalling everything so hopefully we'll be online sometime this weekend

I've got to give some props to Gateway here. When I called them about the laptop's hard drive starting to fail I was immediately connected to a live support rep who spoke perfect English, was very knowledgeable and believed me when I told him I already performed my own initial troubleshooting. He asked me a couple more questions, then said they'd immediately ship me out a replacement drive -- free shipping both ways. The whole process took about 5 minutes and was hands down the most painless tech support call I've ever made. I usually build my own desktop PCs, but for anyone who isn't inclined to do so, or is looking for a laptop (which is hard to build on your own), I'd give a solid recommendation for Gateway.
