Loot Rules

Loot Rules

6-Man Fellowship

These rules should be followed in any fellowships that you participate in.

If it is a yellow item you are free to roll, but take your fellowship members into consideration. If you get a sword that drops and it would be an actual upgrade for one of your fellowship members, by all means, pass it along. If the drop is a purple or higher and you can use it is an upgrade for your current character roll need. Once you have won a purple or higher, pass until all members have won. If the item is not an upgrade pass and the group may decide who gets the item, however, keep in mind if you already received a purple or higher, you must wait till all members have received one, unless you are the only one who can get use out of the item.

An individual is allowed the following per run:

  • * As many yellows as they want

  • * 1 purple or higher until all have received one.

If an individual has already won a purple or higher, they may still inform the party leader if an item is an upgrade for them. Provided nobody else in the party has a present or future need for it, then that player may receive the item and it will not count against their allotment for the instance.

In groups that are comprised entirely of COTL members, Group Loot will be set. In groups consisting of any non-COTL members, Master Looter (Threshold of Rare) will be set and the Party Leader will be responsible for distributing the loot according to the guidelines set above.

Raid Loot Rules:

Creations of the Light does not endorse or use DKP as a system of loot. There are several reasons for this, the main one being that a loot system of awarding members based on attendance and play time goes against the kinship’s foundation of people first-loot second. However, if order and organization is to be maintained a loot system is required. Thus, CoTL has created its own system to be more in-line with our goals.

A. CoTL Raid Loot Procedures:

1. Random loot drops: When random loot drops off mobs and not bosses, a “need, greed, pass” system is employed, except on items outlined below in a. A member may claim up to 2 purple items on any given run. However, if a member has already claimed 1 purple item, he/she should defer until all members have won one, except in the case where an item is only applicable to them and they can get use out of it.

a. Item is Bind on Acquire (BOA) or Legendary (Light Blue):

All members must pass. Once everyone has passed we will break down who needs the item and then employ a /roll.

b. Purple and below:

A member may roll need if the item is a upgrade to their current item. If the item is not an upgrade then the member may roll greed.

2. Boss Loot: CoTL will employ a “master loot” system on boss fights. Once the boss is down and all members are in a condition to receive loot, the master looter will begin the distribution of items. A member may claim up to 1 light blue item on any given run (This includes second run as well, so if you claim a item on the first set of bosses, you cannot roll on the second set of bosses). The exception to this is if after claiming 1 light blue item another class specific item drops in which only the said person will get use out of, then they may claim the item. If members win an item on the first set of bosses and do not wish to attend to down the second set of bosses only because they won’t be able to roll on items in the second run, then said member will not be allowed to attend future raids. Again, loot is a secondary function to our kinship, so we will not tolerate a loot first mentality.

a. Loot Distribution:

The Master looter will display the items 1 at a time in the raid chat. If a member needs an item they will /roll for it. The highest roll will win the item.

B. CoTL Bonus Roll System:

1. Defining the system: Replacing the point system is a +roll system. This is not considered points, since the member is not able to purchase anything or store up points for a particular item. Instead of receiving points you will in certain situations just earn an increased percentage to win on any given roll. It will only be granted to those who have not won an item in a long time period. Read below for details.

a. Bonus Roll Detailed: A person who has not won a legendary drop after 4 raid halves(2 full raid runs, A raid half is the act of downing the 1st set or 2nd set of bosses only) of at least rolling on 1 item, will be awarded a +20 to their /roll until they win an item. If they use their +20 on the 5-6 raid halves attended and still fails to win an item, upon their 7-8 raid halves run they will be awarded a +35 to the /roll until they wins an item. This series will continue with +15 being added to the roll per every 2 raid haves until the member wins an item. (in order for the raid half to count the member must have had rolled on at least 1 legendary item. +Rolls cannot be stored up). Once the member wins an item, their +roll is taken away.

This system will always give any attendee an opportunity to win an item on any given roll, but levels the playing field for members who have not won an item in a long period of time.

b. Recording Raid info: Before each raid a raid secretary will be selected to keep track of who attended, who won what item, and who rolled on at least 1 item but did not win anything. This list will be mailed to one of the officers/councilors after each raid. At the end of the week the officer/councilor will post a listing by person of the past weeks events which will track how many raids that person has attended w/o winning an item. This weekly schedule will be made public so that before each raid starts people can see their status and who if any will qualify for the +roll.

c. The Bummer Clause: The bummer clause will trigger after 8 raid halves with rolling on an item and not winning. So the most a person can have to their bonus roll is +35. On their 9th raid halve attended they will automatically be granted an item.
